From the End to the Beginning

As mentioned in the first post, I will analyze of exposure to mainstream and sub-mainstream Techno & Trance and from it, the rise in popularity of Dub-step.

Taking a backwards approach, starting with a popular Dub-step soundtrack:

Skrillex - Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites

According to Wikipedia, at the age of 23, he is already famous for his remixes and soundtracks. With remixes dating back to 2009 and Albums from 2010, this artist is really fresh to the music industry. This is understandable knowing that deb-step is relatively new. New or not, his music has caught the attention of many. As of today, Skrillex's Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites has 18,895,820 views on Youtube!

His sense of music taste is a bit refreshing from the traditional sense of techno and trance. He does this by combining elements of both techno and trance while putting his own spin into it.

I don't recall hearing this song in the clubs, but I do know that several house parties played this soundtrack. So, do expect an increase in popularity with Skrillex and possible integration of Dub-step into mainstream media such as advertisements.
